About us
Hi, we are
Bec & Jeff.

Bec Karbowski is a veteran educator who wanted a positive behavior app without her students’ information being used online. She wanted to keep it simple, with no student information saved. Tools and points only.
Her husband, Jeff Karbowski, is a web developer of more than 20 years who made that dream a reality.
Together they created Chou Chou Teach. Made by a teacher, for teachers.
Safe. Simple. Affordable.
Why we built our own
Bec wanted a positive behavior app that did not put her students’ information online. That one requirement shaped everything else.
The teacher
Bec is a veteran educator, so the brief came from a real classroom. Points only ever go up, with no deductions and no negative scores on the board. Students pick a woodland creature instead of uploading a photo. Nothing about a child is stored beyond a first name and the points they earned.
The developer
Jeff has built for the web for more than 20 years. He kept the data model as small as Bec asked for, so there is no student directory, no parent database, and very little for a district privacy team to review. It runs in any browser and as an app on iOS and Android, so it works on your phone, your tablet, and the board at the front of the room.
What those three words mean
They are the whole brief. Everything in Chou Chou Teach has to earn its place against them.
Safe
No student information is saved. A student is a first name (or nickname) and an avatar they pick. No student logins, no last names, no photos, no birthdates, and no parent accounts to manage.
Simple
Tools and points only. Award points for effort, kindness, and focus, then reach for a timer, noise meter, name picker, or group maker when you need one. Nothing to set up district-wide and nothing to learn on a Sunday night.
Affordable
$3 a month, or $30 a year, per teacher. No ads, no upsells, and nothing marketed to your students or their families. Cancel any time.
Two people, not a growth team
Chou Chou Teach is independent. That is why the price is flat, the privacy promises are short enough to read in one sitting, and the person who answers support@chouchouteach.com is one of us.
